Nivelles"*. A bright, multi-presentation Festival of Cultures, which will

"The world I want to live in!" - a project implemented by the Public Union of UN Peacekeepers (Kharkiv, Ukraine) and CSC "Les Hirondelles" (Charleroi, Belgium) in partnership with the H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, under the patronage of the Kharkiv City Council and the International association of UN peacekeepers "Soldiers of Peace" AISP/SPIA.
The exhibition of
children's drawings "The world in which I want to live!"**, which
presents the works of the finalists of the Competition with the same name, in
which children of Kharkiv and Kharkiv region, including internally displaced
persons, aged from 6 to 17 years, participated, is a component international
project on the organization of children's peacekeeping camps for children who
were not spared by the war. The uniqueness and relevance of the project in the
involvement of veterans - UN peacekeepers, the projection of the acquired
experience on today's events. Competition of children's drawings "The
world in which I want to live!" was held in April - May 2023 and gathered
about 1,000 participants (45 works were selected, 15 in three age categories)
and aimed to draw the attention of European society to the problem of education
and support of creativity. Тhe potential of the young generation on the example
of the children of Ukraine, who felt the terrible consequences of the war, but
did not lose their love of life and see their future as peaceful.
At the Socio-Cultural
Center of Nivel during the international festival, we will once again be able
to show that it can be exactly as our young artists have depicted it - bright,
colorful, with warmth and smiles, in which there is a place for goodness, love
and creativity, a world, in which mutual respect and universal human values
prevail, where scientific developments and technologies are used only for the
benefit of man, where problems and conflicts that arise are resolved by
gathering around a table where everyone is equal, but everyone carries a share
of their culture and traditions.
Unique rhythms of life
in India, Indonesia, Syria, Brazil, Rwanda, Congo, DRC, Guinea, Togo, Morocco,
Vietnam, etc., and, of course, Ukraine! A wealth of cultures, worlds,
solidarity, social and multicultural exchange!
The population of the
ancient city of Nivelles is multicultural and multinational, representatives of
about 100 nationalities live here. For many residents or their ancestors, the
choice of this city to live was forced...It is extremely important to hold such
meetings and exchanges aimed at getting to know each other, providing the
necessary support, and preventing manifestations of ignorance and violence. As
the organizers say - The festival "Les mondes de Nivelles" aims first
of all to create an atmosphere conducive to meetings, discoveries and civic
life among the inhabitants of Nivelles, regardless of their origin, origin,
affiliation or culture! To learn more about the project, its spirit and goals,
please refer to the charter. https://www.mondesdenivelles.be
We have the opportunity
to plunge into such a world - "The world in which I want to live!" -
which embodies, among other things, the festival "Worlds of Nivel!"
To demonstrate and prove once again that preserving a valuable attitude to life
and human rights, territorial inviolability, respect for religions and national
traditions makes it possible for peaceful and stable coexistence of peoples!
Come to know the wealth
of cultures of different levels through solidary and dynamic associations!
"The world I want
to live in!" - becomes a component of "Worlds of Nivel" - a real
model of sustainable development and the possibility of peaceful coexistence of
representatives of various peoples, nationalities, religions and cultures!
